St.Pat's Irish Festival

. The St. Pat’s Center is hosting its 38th Irish Festival in the heart of Midtown Detroit. The festival will take place from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday, June 28 2015. The center is located at 58 Parsons St in Midtown Detroit. Admission into the festival is $5.00 and they are expecting upwards of 1500 individuals.
For 38 years the St. Patrick Irish Festival has been a long standing tradition and a staple in the Midtown Detroit area. This festival will capture Irish culture such as traditional folk music, live entertainment featuring; Arden School of Irish Dance, The Fraternal Order of United Irishmen’s Chowder Society singing group and the Codgers.
The main attraction among all the entertainment and activities will be the “Midtown Detroit Beer Tasting”. The Midtown Beer Tasting is the perfect way to satisfy your taste buds with a variety of imported and domestic craft beers. The Midtown Beer Tasting feature (blank) .
For the first time the St. Pat’s Irish festival will be hosting one of a kind Video Game Truck. Adults and children of all ages will have a great time on this truck. There will be a variety of games to play including sports, action, and dance.
This year’s event chair will be Joseph J. Zainea (81). Joseph Zainea is the owner of “The Majestic Theater” in midtown Detroit. The Majestic Theatre is celebrating its centennial anniversary this year.
“My motto in life is ‘forget Arrogance, try Humor’, said Joseph Zainea, owner of the Majestic Theater. “I have served on the boards of the Children's Center of Wayne County and St. Patrick Senior Center with Sister Mary and Father Duffy and I believe in helping our seniors and the St. Pats Irish festival is an event that people of all ages should have a chance to experience.”
Founded by Sr. Mary Watson in 1973, St. Pat’s Center serves over 2,000 seniors in metro Detroit. It is the largest activity center in Detroit dedicated to serving seniors and the city’s largest congregate meal site. It provides daily meals, health and wellness services and social activities.
